March is all about eggs!!

Farside Farm Free-range Eggs and Hickory Nut Gap Sausage on a Jalapeno Cheddar Bagel

Appalachian Sustainable Agriculture Project (ASAP) is featuring Eggs as the local ingredient for March which is of course one of our most essential ingredients. We buy local eggs from Farside Farm located right outside of Asheville in Alexander, North Carolina. Farside Farms owner Mike Brown, makes sure that all of the animals on his farm have access to open space and clean air. The chickens that lay the eggs are also antibiotic and hormone free animals. At the bakery we plan to use his eggs to make some fantastic March Specials.

Chocolate Pudding

On the savory side we’ll be making Fresh Egg Salads with spring herbs, and our famous Egg Sandwiches on homemade Biscuits and Bagels as well as Strata an egg casserole like a quiche with bread, cheese and vegetables.
If dessert is what you want – look for our Chocolate Pudding, Lemon Custard Trifle, or Chocolate Chip Meringue Cookies!
